PRESS RELEASE COUNTDOWN TO ITE HCMC 2023 “CONNECTIVITY, GROWTH, SUBSTAINABILITY”

Ho Chi Minh City, 15 August 2023 – The 17th International Travel Expo Ho Chi Minh City 2023 (ITE HCMC 2023) will return for 3 days from 07 to 09 September 2023 at Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (SECC), 799 Nguyen Van Linh Street, District 7, Ho Chi Minh City. With the theme "Connectivity, Growth, Sustainability", ITE HCMC 2023 is expected to contribute breakthrough solutions to help Vietnam's tourism accelerate, develop sustainably as well as promote the beautiful image of Vietnam and its people to international friends.

International visitors to Vietnam increased sharply

According to Vietnam National Authority of Tourism in July 2023, the country welcomed more than 1.04 million international visitors, up 6.5% compared to June. This is also the first month since the beginning of this year, the tourism industry welcomed over 1 million international visitors. Thus, in the 7 months of this year, the total number of international visitors to Vietnam has reached nearly 6.6 million, equivalent to 83% of the 2023 plan.

 

The sharp increase in the number of international visitors to Vietnam in the low season is considered a positive signal for Vietnam's tourism after implementing a series of policies to resolve obstacles for the tourism industry in recent years. Typically, the Government has issued Resolution 82 on solutions to accelerate recovery and the development of sustainable tourism by May 5. Additionally, in June, the National Assembly also passed a bill amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on entry, exit, transit, and residence of foreigners in Vietnam, which increases the e-visa period to 90 days.

 

In addition, it is also necessary to acknowledge the efforts and agility of tourism promotion agencies throughout the country, tourism enterprises ... has coordinated many activities to attract visitors such as: organizing promotional and advertorial programs in key markets, and creating many unique and attractive tourism products to attract visitors.

 

In this context, the International Travel Expo Ho Chi Minh City 2023 (ITE HCMC 2023) is expected to be a breakthrough to promote the stimulation of the international tourist markets. The event will focus all its efforts on communicating to target markets; offer solutions and initiatives to promote Vietnam's tourism effectively and sustainably. 

 

 

 

 

ITE HCMC 2023: Seizing opportunities and accelerating development

The 17th International Travel Expo Ho Chi Minh City (ITE HCMC 2023) will officially return with the theme: "Connectivity, Growth, Sustainability". It is expected to attract tens of thousands of visitors, international buyers and exhibitors to exchange and explore breakthrough development opportunities in the new phase - the implementation phase of the Government's Resolution No. 82 on major tasks and solutions to accelerate the recovery and development of effective and sustainable tourism and the Government's Resolution No. 127  on the application of e-visas for citizens of countries and territories; international border gates allowing foreigners to enter,  exit by e-visa.

 

ITE HCMC 2023 is considered a fundamental event to promote the image of the country and people of Vietnam and Ho Chi Minh City to domestic and international tourists. Travel and tourism businesses can reconnect, creating improved supply and demand. With the expansion in scale when doubling the area and the number of booths compared to 2022, the fair is expected to attract more than 400 exhibitors and brands such as International Tourism Promotion Agencies, Departments and Tourism Promotion Centers, Local tourism associations, tour operators, travel agencies, accommodation establishments, airlines, and transport units... Which, booths from domestic units are expected to account for more than 70%, and about 3.0%are international units.

 

Up to now, the fair also recorded the number of booths registered to attend up to more than 400 exhibiting companies and brands, including more than 370 exhibiting companies and brands from domestic units, 30 exhibiting companies and brands from international units with the participation of tourism promotion agencies of countries such as Cambodia,  Chile, Taiwan (China), Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Japan, Philippines, Thailand; Tourism promotion agencies of international localities: St.Peteburg City (Russian Federation) and Seoul (South Korea) and more than 46 provinces of Vietnam: Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Can Tho, Da Nang, Hai Phong; An Giang, Bac Lieu,  Ba Ria – Vung Tau, Ben Tre, Binh Dinh, Binh Duong, Ca Mau, Dak Lak, Dak Nong, Dong Nai, Dong Thap, Gia Lai, Ha Giang, Ha Tinh, Kien Giang, Kontum, Khanh Hoa, Lai Chau, Lang Son, Lao Cai, Lam Dong, Long An, Nghe An, Ninh Binh, Ninh Thuan, Phu Tho, Phu Yen, Quang Binh, Quang Nam, Quang Ninh,  Quang Tri, Soc Trang, Tay Ninh, Thanh Hoa, Thua Thien Hue, Tien Giang, Tra Vinh, Vinh Long, Yen Bai, certainly bring a successful fair in terms of expertise and scale.

 

 

 

 

 

ITE HCMC is the only international travel expo in Vietnam with the International Buyers Program. The program provides opportunities for international tourism businesses wishing to expand the market, bring tourists to Vietnam, as well as seek tourism partners in Vietnam and the Mekong Delta region in the near future. ITE HCMC 2023 is interested in registration by more than 550 international tourism enterprises. After reviewing and selecting with the consultation of Vietnam Airlines, Vietjet Air, Bamboo Airways, Emirates, European Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam (EuroCham) and the Advisory Board,  The Organizing Committee has selected and invited over 150 international buyers from more than 31 countries and territories, namely USA, Australia, New Zealand, China, Korea, Taiwan (China), Singapore, Thailand, Philippines, Cambodia, Malaysia, Germany, United Kingdom, France, Portugal, Poland, Hungary, Bulgaria, Belgium, Austria, Croatia,  Romania, Armenia, Russia, India, Turkey, South Africa and GCC Countries (Kuwait, UAE, Qatar, Saudi Arabia). Thereby, the ITE HCMC 2023 promises to open more than 6,000 B2B trade appointments between buyers and exhibitors.

 

The fair is also supported by more than 50 domestic media partners and 20 international press units and KOLs from 8 countries: USA, Australia, Spain, Portugal, China, Turkey, Philippines, and Malaysia.
