Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism recently hosted the ‘Roadshow Vietnam - Ho Chi Minh City Tourism in Australia 2023’ from May 10 to May 18, 2023. The event was organized in collaboration with the Vietnam Embassy in Australia and the Vietnam General Consulate in New South Wales, Queensland, and South Australia. The Vietnam - Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Delegation, along with Vietnam Airlines as Official Airlines and more than 20 leading travel businesses and hotels, participated in the event, which received positive feedback from the travel businesses in Australia.

         On May 12, 2023, 'Roadshow Vietnam - Ho Chi Minh City Tourism in Sydney 2023' was held at Jackson Sydney Harbor Luxury Cruise. The event was attended by 150 travel businesses from New South Wales, making it one of the largest tourism promotional events in the Australia, according to local travel businesses. The delegation showcased the unique cultural and tourism offerings of Vietnam - Ho Chi Minh City, including its historical sites, natural attractions, and local cuisine.

         On May 15, 2023, ‘Roadshow Vietnam - Ho Chi Minh City Tourism in Melbourne 2023’ took place at The Crown Promenade Hotel Melbourne. with over 120 guests from Victoria’s travel industry in attendance. Attendees were also given exclusive publications and gifts, and partake in cultural activities such as making conical hats, creating To He, enjoying Vietnamese tea, and traditional musical instrument performances. The event provided an excellent opportunity for the delegation to introduce the tourism potential of Ho Chi Minh City to the Australian travel industry. Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh Hoa - Director of Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism extended an invitation to Australian travel experts to visit Ho Chi Minh City, which serves as Vietnam's tourism and economic center, where traditional values and a youthful, dynamic modern atmosphere harmoniously coexist.

         On May 17, 2023, the Vietnam – Ho Chi Minh City Delegation had meetings with Queensland Department of Tourism, Innovation and Sport to discuss the partnership opportunities to enhance the tourism and cultural exchange between Queensland and Ho Chi Minh City. Recently, Vietjet announced new routes to Melbourne and Sydney from Ho Chi Minh City, and new direct flight to Brisbane from Ho Chi Minh City which will take off from June 16, 2023 with four flights per week on Mondays and Fridays. The flights demonstrate the growing connection between Australia and Vietnam in this 50th anniversary year of diplomatic relations.

         In the framework of the roadshow, Ho Chi Minh City Tourism also introduced and extend the invitation to ITE HCMC 2023 – the largest and most established travel expo in Vietnam and Mekong subregion, which will take place from 07 to 09 September 2023 at Saigon Exhibition & Convention Center (SECC), Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
