The 10th Ho Chi Minh City Ao Dai Festival Press Release

The event marks a decade of development, celebrating the journey of the Ao Dai Festival in Ho Chi Minh City. The city's People's Committee has announced the plan for the 10th Ho Chi Minh City Ao Dai Festival in 2024 with the theme "I Love Vietnamese Ao Dai," running from March 7th to 17th, 2024. The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism and the Ho Chi Minh City Women's Union, in collaboration with other departments, districts, and Thu Duc City, will orchestrate activities at various locations including the President Ho Chi Minh Monument , Nguyen Hue walking street, Lam Son Park, the Youth Culture House, the Ao Dai Museum, QT4 Square (Saigon Riverbank Park in Thu Duc), and historical, cultural sites, and tourism attractions throughout the city.
The festival aims to inspire widespread participation from the city's population across all 21 districts and Thu Duc City, businesses, government agencies, organizations, and tourists, particularly encouraging female officials and employees to wear Ao Dai during the festival. The Ao Dai Festival seeks to further integrate the Ao Dai into daily life, from workplaces to significant events, promoting the culture and tourism of Ho Chi Minh City and Vietnam internationally.
This year's festival will see participation from over 20 celebrities across various fields as image ambassadors. Additionally, 30 renowned Ao Dai designers from across the country will showcase their collections, highlighting Vietnamese cultural identity.
Festival Activities:
1. Opening Ceremony: A live TV broadcast featuring two programs, "Ao Dai - The Soul of Vietnam" and "Ao Dai Goes Global," showcasing prominent Ao Dai collections.
2. Ao Dai Co-performance: Celebrating International Women's Day with around 5,000 participants.
3. Ao Dai Cultural performance: Themed "Ao Dai - The Colors of Ho Chi Minh City," promoting daily Ao Dai use among city residents.
4. Charming Ao Dai HCMC Contest: For groups with over five members, including semifinals and a live broadcast finale.
5. Children’s Ao Dai Painting Contest: For students, fostering art talents and promoting Ao Dai love among youth.
6. Ao Dai Photo Online contest: Themed "Ao Dai and 100 Interesting Things about Ho Chi Minh City."
7. 10th Anniversary Logo Design Contest: To promote the festival and commemorate a decade of the Ao Dai Festival.
8. Ao Dai Exhibition and Interactive Spaces: Displaying Ao Dai history, providing free Ao Dai experiences, and promoting city attractions.
9. Talkshow “The Beauty of Vietnamese Ao Dai and International Integration”: with participation from consular officers and international delegates.
10. Ticket Discounts: For art performances to attract visitors during the festival.
11. Cultural and Artistic Space: Showcasing UNESCO-recognized Vietnamese cultural heritage.
12. Ao Dai Donations: For female members of the Women's Union in difficult circumstances.
