VIETNAM – HO CHI MINH CITY TOURISM SHINES IN AUSTRALIA

         Vibrant Ho Chi Minh City - To foster stronger tourism partnerships between Vietnam and Australia, Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism (HCMC DOT), the Embassy of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in Australia, and Consulate General of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in Sydney is organizing a roadshow to promote Vietnam – Ho Chi Minh City. tourism in localities across Australia, including Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane from May 11st – 17th, 2023.

 

The delegations from Vietnam - Ho Chi Minh City led by Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh Hoa - Director of Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism, along with more than 20 representatives from Vietnam's leading Airlines, Tour Operators, Travel. Agencies, and Hotels.

 

          The Vietnam Tourism Roadshow opened at the Jackson Sydney Harbor Luxury Cruise, Darling Harbor, Sydney on the. night of 12th May. It will then move on to the Crown Promenade in Melbourne on the night of 15th May before concluding at the Brisbane on the afternoon of 17th May. The events will be held in Sydney and Mebourne with the participation of more than 200 participants from Australian partners (Outbound Tour Operators and Travel Agencies, MICE Operators and Media...) and Vietnam business partners.

 

         At the roadshow, new tourism products and policies of Vietnam - Ho Chi Minh City, the Calendar of the City's Festivals and in 2023; new tourism products and services such as: cultural - historical tourism, sports tourism, culinary tourism, eco-tourism, entertainment tourism, golf tourism and regional linkage products of Ho Chi Minh City will be showcased to Australian delegates. The roadshow is aimed at promoting the potential of Vietnam – Ho Chi Minh City as a tourist destination to the Australian travel trade, highlighting potential attractions and products, as well as providing an opportunity for Vietnamese suppliers and stakeholders to meet and do business with Australian travel agencies. Joining the event, visitors will experience a variety of activities: meeting with the leading airlines, tour operators, travel agents, and hotels in Vietnam – Ho Chi Minh City to discover Vietnam - Ho Chi Minh City tourism products offered exclusively for the Australian market as well as present a unique opportunity for bilateral visitor exchange; collecting publications and featured gifts from Vietnam and Ho Chi Minh City Tourism destinations; enjoy performances of ethnic musical instruments dan bau, dan Tranh, lute T-rung, especially the making of to he and painting “nón lá” – Vietnamese traditional hats.

 

           In addition, the seminar on Vietnam – Ho Chi Minh City. tourism provided the latest news and updates on Vietnam Tourism, announcing the Ho Chi Minh City Festivals and Events in 2023, as well as showcasing and introducing new tourism products and services on Cultural – History tourism, Sport tourism, Gastronomic tourism, Ecotourism, Bleisure tourism, Golf Tourism and about Ho Chi Minh City- Travel hub. of Vietnam – Regional tourism are also highlighted here.

         Australia has been one of the important tourist markets of Viet Nam, with the potential to increase the number of tourists to Vietnam overall and specifically to Ho Chi Minh City. Before the outbreak of COVID-19, Australian visitors to Vietnam reached 383.511. As for Ho Chi Minh City, the total number of visitors from Australia reached nearly 300,000 arrivals in 2019 and more than 130,000 arrivals in 2022, accounting for about 3.5% of the total number of international visitors to the City. The Australian tourist market has potential to grow and is always in the top 10 international tourist markets to Vietnam and Ho Chi Minh City in the recent years.
