From 5 December 2022 to 11 December 2022, People’s committees and Department of Tourism of Ho Chi Minh City organized The 2nd Ho Chi Minh City tourism week with the theme "Vibrant festival - Vibrant journey".

In tune with the jubilant atmosphere of the festival season at the end of 2022 and early 2023, the plan to organize the 2nd Tourism Week with the theme “Vibrant festival - Vibrant journey" which is an event aimed at aims to stimulate demand in both the domestic and international tourism, while also making a positive contribution to the growth of the tourism industry and creating an interesting playground for residents as well as domestic and foreign tourists in the context of the new normal following the COVID-19 pandemic. In addition, the tourism week intends to build Ho Chi Minh City into the leading tourist destination in all of Asia.

On the morning of December 5 2022, the People's Committee and the Department of Tourism of Ho Chi Minh City solemnly held a flag-raising ceremony at the Thu Ngu Flagpole monument in the Bach Dang wharf park area in District 1 in order to kick off the 2nd Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Week.

The program was followed by the performance of a flower-offering ceremony in honor of President Ho Chi Minh and President Ho Chi Minh Ton Duc Thang. Furthermore, visitors could also experience walking to visit tourist attractions of Ho Chi Minh City on the stunning route of Thu Ngu Flagpole - Khanh Hoi Bridge - Ho Chi Minh Museum or take a panoramic tour of the city by an eco-friendly bus.

At the opening ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee - Comrade Phan Thi Thang said: "The 2nd Tourism Week 2022 is considered as a push back for tourism activities, contributing to the effective and sustainable development of tourism in Ho Chi Minh City in particular and Vietnam's tourism in general after more than two years of being affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Week not only served as a heartfelt welcome to all of domestic and international tourists, but also was a spiritual food for tourists from near and far to come experience the vibrancy of a youthful, modern metropolis with unique and cutting-edge architecture, as well as innovative spirit and energetic energy. Ho Chi Minh City promises to become an unexpectedly appealing travel destination by providing its guests with a variety of exciting and meaningful activities through a series of tourism - culture - sports - music that was held at prominent tourist attractions of the City such as Bach Dang Wharf Park, City Central Post Office, Book Street and City Theatre".

Besides, many diverse and interesting activities took place at the Creative Culture Space such as street art shows, performances of traditional musical instruments and a series of other folk game activities. It can be seen that the highlight of the opening ceremony was the Flashmob dance performance with choreography by Quang Dang. Moreover, thousands of college students performed a Flashmob dance to the song of "Hello Ho Chi Minh City'' sung by singer Thao Trang.  Also, exchange activities with the City Tourism Week Ambassadors also took place at this location for the opening ceremony.

The series of events was even more particularly notable since it is the first time that the painting activity of the City takes place through the sketching perspective of the professional group of architects "Urban Sketcher". In addition to various activities throughout the travel week, there were included the HOZO International Music Festival 2022 features performances by a number of well-known domestic and international artists, the performances of dozens of brilliant hot air balloons at the Hot Air Balloon Festival and the Techcombank Ho Chi Minh City International Marathon were the highlights of this tourist festival season.
